Welcome to the Alabama Association for Specialists in Group Work (ALASGW)!

On behalf of the Executive Committee, welcome to the official online home of ALASGW—a division of the Alabama Counseling Association (ALCA).
As specialists, clinicians, school counselors, educators, and students across Alabama, our shared passion lies in the transformative power of group therapy and group process. Groups offer a unique healing dynamic, providing connection, shared learning, and a supportive environment where individuals realize they are never truly alone in their experiences. Whether you are leading psychoeducational groups in schools, running intensive outpatient clinical groups, or facilitating growth groups, ALASGW is here to support your professional journey.

Join/renew your ALASGW membership
Participate in Nominations for executive committee and annual awards. Interested in serving? Contact us at contactalasgw@gmail.com .
Follow us on Facebook and Instagram .
Attend events and division meetings. Division meetings take place in the Winter (January), Spring (March or April), Summer (June or July), and Fall (November).
Share your needs and interests with the ALASGW executive committee.
ADD TO YOUR TOOLBOX/RESOURCES
Participate in ALASGW events that allow you to consult and network with other clinicians/practitioners in Alabama.
Attend CE events and workshops to further develop group therapy techniques and stay current on ethical considerations of group therapy.
